5 Home Business Blues Busters

We all have those days where everything just seems too much don’t we?

I’m an emotional person so I’ve really had to put some strong systems in place to support my volatile nature.

When I got started in my first home business I remember one of the 8 figure earners talking about the ups and downs and the highs and the lows of network marketing.

That really resonated with me and I could see how it put everyone at their ease as they realised with relief that it’s quite normal to feel up and down.

As you gain more experience in your business you gain more perspective of what is likely to happen in the day to day running of a home business of any kind and so you are less surprised by the nature of people!

For many, your first business may present one of the most exciting but emotionally challenging chapters of your life.

When you’re new in the business if you’re not careful you risk allowing external factors such as whether someone chooses to work with you or buy from you determine your mood for the day.

You quickly realise that this is not the most effective way to operate because you’re at the mercy of everyone else’s decisions!

I didn’t like living on the seesaw and although I still experience days where I feel more up and down than others – it’s usually to do with my own internal issues rather than what someone else decides to do.

The easiest way to beat the blues is to prevent you slipping down there in the first place.

So here are 5 of the 10 ways for you to beat the blues and set up your own support system so that you can become rock solid in life and in home business.

1)      Do personal development every single day. By this I mean read or listen to something that raises your mood and makes you feel invincible.  That helps set the tone for the day so is very effective in the morning.  You must replace negative programming with positive and this is the easiest way I’ve found to do it.

2)      Create a daily routine for optimum health and energy.  I’ve found that how energetic I feel directly impacts how positive I feel.  How positive I feel directly effects how successful my actions in the day become.  I’m not Einstein but trust me on this and create a healthy routine for yourself such as doing some exercise, eating an energy boosting diet, taking regular breaks and drinking lots of water.

3)      Schedule your work.  All work makes you a very dull workaholic and sometimes more work is just not the way to get better results.  Work smart not hard and schedule your time so that when you work you work with 100% focus.

Don’t let distractions turn a 30 minute blog post into a 5 hour artistic creation due to social media, smart phones, listening to the TV or checking emails at the same time.

4)      Schedule fun into your life. Make time for fun and reward your hard work with little treats often.  One of my favourite things is to pop to the coffee shop for a latte or visit the bookshop.  Find the things that make you feel good and do lots of them especially when you take the action you need to take each day so then you have something to look forward to.

5)      Keep a gratitude journal.  I am a writer so writing is like therapy for me but it doesn’t matter whether you speak into your phone or jot down in your journal so don’t get hung up on the how.  The important thing is to create the feeling of gratitude.  Many people were inspired by the Secret to have their own ‘gratitude rock,’ and each time you see it you’re reminded of all the wonderful things you have to be grateful for.

Way back before I even understood the power of personal development I used to do this instinctively. I just felt better when no matter how tough life seemed I would jot down all the good stuff I had achieved and had in my life already.

Being thankful for what you have puts you in a position or vibration to receive more good stuff.  This is a great way to jolt yourself out of wallowing in the home business or life blues.

    Rachel,

    Great points.

I think that proper eating and exercise are vital.

In addition, keeping our emotions balanced helps a lot too. When we are new in a business, we can feel like we are on a roller coaster ride with highs and lows. It’s much easier when we are balanced.

I really like your idea about the gratitude journal. I’m going to start doing that myself.

Thanks for sharing this great post.

    Chuck
