9 Steps to Your ‘Niche Expert,’ System – Part 1

Every business owner needs a system.  Many don’t have one which means they spend more time reinventing the wheel rather than cashing the cheques.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and underpaid you’ll want to read every word on this page and then start implementing the steps.

As with most things, it’s easy when you know how so here are my 9 steps for creating your ‘Niche Expert’ System:

1) Develop the Mindset for Success.

As Jim Rohn said, ‘work harder on yourself than you do on your job.’  We all want success to come now!  Success will come when you’re mind is ready to attract it and not before so don’t cut corners here.

Take the time to read the books, go to the seminars, have the coaching and seek out the mentors. It will be worth every penny and minute of your time because when success does come it won’t catch you off guard.

If by fortuitous circumstance success finds you before you’re quite ready you may lose it as fast as it came.


2) The Power of Niche

If you’re going for everyone, you risk getting no one.  If you cobble together a marketing system but haven’t pinpointed your niche first, you’re working backwards.  It won’t be long before you find yourself with no direction.  What will your content be about if you’re not clear on your niche?

Get clear on your niche BEFORE you create your marketing funnel and you’ll save yourself many awkward moments and frustrating outcomes.

Who is your perfect client and what do they want? It’s a simple question but it requires serious research and a detailed answer.  Don’t skip this to march on to the juicy stuff because you must put the right materials in place to attract your prospects when they visit.


3) Create Your Magnetic Expert Profile

Who are you and what is your brand?

How will you communicate with your target market through social media?

By getting clarity on your brand you’ll never run out of things to say that attract your target market and your perfect clients.  People who complain that they haven’t got anything to say have probably not given much thought to who they are being.

When you’re very clear on WHO you’re talking to and you’re very clear on WHAT you’re delivering it becomes easy.

Throw into the mix that all you have to do online is to be you, (your brand) and it becomes easier still. It’s fun actually, not hard work at all.


4) The New Rules and the New Tools

Success in our changing economy requires a fresh approach.  Have you set up your profiles on the big social networks so that you have an effective social media presence?

Develop your own social media strategy i.e.; how many times a day do you tweet?  How do you update all your social media profiles so that you don’t fritter away the day? When do you send social updates and how many business tweets do you send?

Get familiar with the new tools and step out onto the new frontier. Have you a blog? If not, ask yourself, why not?

Maybe it’s time for you to embrace the new rules and tools. When you do you’ll be able to harness the power of the internet to magnetically attract the right people and opportunities to you.

If you resist because you don’t like change, these opportunities will pass you by and land on the lap of one who is better prepared to receive them.


5) Unleash Your Inner Expert

If you want to attract clients and receive the best referrals you’ll need to learn the art of communicating with your target market.

Take some time to learn the new rules such as how to interact on Facebook and Twitter.  What is ‘twitter speak?’

Develop your own social media strategy i.e.; how many times a day do you tweet?  How do you update all your social media profiles so that you don’t fritter away the day?

Study basic copywriting so that when you write an article you can guide the reader to take the next step with you.

Think about making a short audio or video if you can communicate more easily that way. It all works but your must communicate and use your voice to show that you have expert knowledge.

Don’t be freaked out by this if you don’t yet feel like an expert. Identify your niche and then study, practice and teach until you have enough knowledge to begin sharing some of it.

It’s a smooth journey when you can see your destination.
