How long have you been doing this and why did you create the ‘The Niche Expert,’ System?
About 8 years ago I decided to defy common expectation and set up in business for myself from home. The only criteria I had for my business was that it must be home-based and part-time so that I could work it round my two very young daughters.
We had recently moved to the UK after living abroad and I had no spare cash, no business experience, no house, no car, no furniture & no babysitters!)
What I did have was a burning desire to do something meaningful with my life, an entrepreneurial spirit and a ‘can do’ attitude. So I jumped on the dial up broadband and quickly started a home based business.
I soon found myself in quite a lot of debt following the ‘no system,’ system of my new business. But I didn’t give up. After lots of trial and error, I managed to turn things around by filling my nutrition practice with weight loss and wellness clients which enabled me to stay in the long term game.
After several years of working this high quota sales model, I became restless & started to research new ways of building my business with the internet.
Tired of being out of the house so much doing presentations and attending networking meetings, my love affair with the internet began. Way back in 2007 I began enrolling people in high end business programmes through my social networks.
Immersing myself in online marketing, I invested in every course from the leaders in the field. I quickly became an expert in generating leads and enrolling people in my programmes. My business was suddenly no longer local but global! People I’d never met or heard of before were calling and emailing me from all over the world, asking for my marketing advice.
I wanted to share my knowledge so I wrote my first e-book which was downloaded hundreds of times and I built a database of targeted subscribers for my niche, who followed my e-course and many of whom bought affiliate courses & products.
People in competing companies in my industry started coming to me as the ‘Go to’ expert and asking if they could use my e-book system. They wanted to be able to share the e-book and attract subscribers for their business too. Soon I was making steady affiliate commissions and sales of my own system on auto-pilot. My Blog began to attract readers from all over the world.
People were using my name for advertising and posting my articles all over Google. I could really feel the leverage of doing business this way. By simply positioning myself as an expert I was pulling the right traffic, leads, clients and opportunities towards me on autopilot, still using just my faithful laptop in my little home office in the peaceful British countryside.
I was becoming really successful in a very competitive niche. The problems began when I realised that I no longer wanted to be in that specialist niche!
So I went back to the drawing board and recreated my internet presence with an entirely new focus, which accurately reflects my passions, skills and expertise.
More high end courses, more study, more planning and here we are. I don’t want you to have to go through as many hours of study as I have to establish yourself, only to find that you’re in the wrong niche!

The programmes require a 3-6 month commitment so do not suit people who have no income or are in a serious financial crunch right now. This is because someone in that situation usually finds it too distracting to focus on the programme.
