Are You Trying to Buy Your Way To Success?

I’m writing this today because I have come across a lot of people lately who think they can buy their way to success.

Here’s the thing about that. Some are under the impression that if they pay thousands of dollars for some kind of marketing course and think they are guaranteed to be successful.

And of course that is simply not the case. It’s like the guys who sign up in a new business and think that because they pay $1k or whatever they have done what they need to do.

No! This is just the beginning. Now it’s time to learn HOW TO build the business.

If you are not buying into some get rich quick program or thinking then you have to be willing to put in the time.

You wouldn’t arrive at University; fees paid up and expect to graduate that same week would you? You wouldn’t quit after 6 months because you didn’t graduate already right?

If you arrive in the business with the skill sets needed to succeed then happy days. Most do not.

We have to learn them. We have to work on ourselves and our thinking so that we start to think like entrepreneurs, not employees.

It sounds easy; but it’s really not.

We’ve been conditioned in school to be followers. Sit down, be quiet and follow the rule book.

Then many of us have had jobs where we are rewarded for staying in line and not upsetting the status quo. When I used to ask ‘but why do we do it this way?’ (Translation for ‘this seems like a really inefficient way to do this just because they’ve been doing it this way for 10 years etc.’) most of the time my superiors would not even know.

We’ve been conditioned not to think, just to follow rules so it can be tough when you start your own business.

Many people sadly have this kind of welfare mentality. I don’t mean they claim welfare or anything. What I mean is they expect someone else to take care of them. (Usually their boss)

They are used to trading their time for money. They’re used to receiving paid holidays and a monthly salary even when they don’t perform.

It’s time to get over that because it won’t be the case for the majority of employees anymore. That sit back and let it happen approach is no longer a reliable economic plan.

So if you find yourself whining about why is this not that way and why have you not made any money in your business yet; have a long hard think about it.

Look within and ask yourself the questions you need to ask yourself.

Are you really doing what you need to be doing on a daily basis or are you hoping to get lucky?

Are you expecting success but not doing what it takes to earn it?

The number of people who think they need to ‘only sponsor 5 or even just 2 people’ to get rich is frightening.

Listen up people. You might get rich sponsoring 2 GREAT people but you will probably need to go through hundreds to find them.

There is no short cut to success. No magic amount of money you can pay to join and just be successful. No magic course. No magic website. No magic coach.

All of these things can be helpful to you but YOU are the magic ingredient. No one promises success to anyone. It’s impossible because it is about each of us individually taking responsibility for our own actions on a day to day basis.

Here are a few things you need to be doing every day if you want to change that ‘stinking thinking,’ that might be holding you back.

Please know I am speaking from experience and have to work on myself every day to keep a good attitude. It’s not magic – put in what you want to get out.

Read a great uplifting book and you will feel uplifted. Spread that message and put out a good vibe. Your day will be happier and more successful.

Read the newspaper and you will probably feel pretty depressed. Spread that doom and gloom message and you will get more of the same.
