I recommend icontact for a number of reasons:
You don't need a 'double opt in' but you can choose it if you prefer. Many subscribers are lost every day because they forget to go and double opt in (ie; click again) when they receive the first email. Mike Klingler and Mike Dillard both recommend icontact and I set up all my systems with it.
