Are Attraction Marketers Really Building MLM Downlines?

January 26th, 2010 rhenke Comments

Network Marketing fascinates me. If it didn’t I probably would have quit long, long ago. There is something about it that is simply addictive.. don’t you think?

What is it exactly? It’s hard to put your finger on.

It’s one of the toughest business models out there but still we cling to this concept of greatness through building a huge network.

Last week as you may recall from my ezine, Amateurs versus Professionals I attended a company convention and also had a special European leadership session with Randy Gage prior to the event which was by special invitation only. It got me thinking…

Randy is convinced that Attraction Marketing is devil’s spawn! This came as no surprise to me, as those of you who follow him know full well that he doesn’t mince words. With Randy it is his way or the highway.

That is actually what is so attractive about him. There is no room for doubt. He has complete conviction, the cheques and the success record to back up his philosophy. That is strong leadership that brings you back to the centre line.

During the leadership session he threw out a few acidic comments about Attraction Marketing and aimed them square at me. I shifted uncomfortably but looked him straight in the eyes. We laughed about it later as I know he wants only the best for me.

I am well aware that I manifested all of this because I dreamed of working with Randy Gage and his systems years before he even got back into a Network Marketing company.

Still..anyone would think I created Attraction Marketing. I mean come on Randy.. I am not Michelle Dillard!

Randy thinks that Attraction Marketing is ‘bullshit’ and that lots of the online gurus are just mining the minors. (When you think that apparently there was more money made in the Gold Rush from the selling of shovels and levi jeans, than from the gold itself this is obviously a good business to be in!

Anyway it got me to thinking again as I so often do about this online and offline MLM puzzle or conundrum.

I have never said that online MLM is the only way to go because right from the get go I have been very aware of the advantages of building MLM with a traditional (but smart step-by-step) business plan.

Not ever doing fliers again though guys!

I’ve never begged my prospects to join or cried when they said no. (At least not in a long, long time) In previous posts I have written about much of the online nonsense that is going on as newbie network marketers try to figure out what to do, and spam our profiles.

Randy Gage and Eric Worre teach professional network marketing at its very best. Duplication and creating massive organizations that are built to last is their speciality.

Hence they have no time for the latest internet gimmicks and create an army of distributors who know exactly what to do.

Attraction Marketing and Internet Network Marketing on the other hand can get very complicated. By its very nature your people are all doing different things. This makes duplication very, very challenging. (If you didn’t read my story and why I created my own Attraction Marketing system yet, you can download my free Attraction Marketing e-book here)

I do love working online and bring in some great people this way. But you have to have a real business plan for them to get started fast with your company or team.

They then add in online marketing to the mix if they want to.

Going online straight away is awesome if you are experienced and already have a network circle to contact online. For some, especially younger people it is easy to get their heads around driving traffic to their web page. For others who barely know how to get their own domain name, it can be a very slow process.

Personally I advocate doing what you love and what makes sense for your personal circumstances. I for instance live in a very remote location and because of the internet have been able to enrol people from all over the world. Pretty exciting hey?

That being said I have some advanced internet skills and have created an excellent online marketing funnel that does a lot of the work for me.

If I lived in London I probably would do more local networking, so you see how it’s best to create your plan around your skill-set and your life as it is now. (That being said I have done so much local networking in my MLM career and I know the power of it)

I could go on. There’s so much here to elaborate on in another post but enough is enough. You guys are busy and short is better than long these days.

In closing I’m finding myself wondering how many of the Attraction Marketing gurus are really building an MLM downline?

I’ve always done the business with a mix of on and offline because the tools I have access to with my team are way too good to ignore for warm market.

There are many though who claim that they can do it all online. Network Marketing is about people and relationships so whilst I agree that A LOT can be done online with technology, I also know that meetings make money, cement relationships and build belief.

I see the transformation that happens to our team members when they attend events, especially major ones.

I do however LOVE online lead generation and for me it has always been about being able to teach people what to do to attract more prospects once they have been through their warm list.

In my experience most people are open to working their warm list if you give them realistic expectations and quality business tools to do it with.

Where it all falls down (I find) is when you have nothing else to teach them after that. It can be very challenging to meet enough NEW people to do another ‘major blast’ or create enough continued momentum and first line recruiting.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. It seems to me that the roles have been reversed.

The die-hard online network marketers (the Renegades and the Magnetics) who refuse to do any offline marketing have long accused MLM uplines such as Randy Gage and Dani Johnson, of doing one thing but teaching another.

Funded proposals and affiliate marketing are amazing and I have generated a lot of income with them but they do distract people from building their MLM cheque unless they have a systemized approach to it and really understand it.

In a strange irony it seems to me as though the shoe is now on the other foot. The MLM leaders who have built huge downlines with person to person and warm market lists are now calling out the online gurus as doing one thing and teaching another!

Are Attraction Marketers for the most part just selling online affiliate courses and losing sight of the MLM dream?

When you figure that the big players in Attraction Marketing such as Mike Dillard and Mike Klingler are no longer building the MLM model…

Ann Sieg is in MLM but has a huge business with affiliate marketing…

Jonathan Budd is a big player but again I don’t know how much of his earnings published on MLM authority sites are actually from his MLM.

Perhaps Randy Gage has a good point.

What do you think? Leave your comments on the blog. I know this is a heated subject for many so please show respect!

p.s Every name I have mentioned in this blog has been of tremendous value to me in building my business and I in no way which to discredit any of them. They all bring incredible leadership and training to Network Marketing with their own unique style.

Are You an Amateur or a Network Marketing Professional?

January 20th, 2010 rhenke Comments

I’m just back from a leadership convention in Rome and have some brilliant business builder training for you today.

I captured Randy Gage with my FLIP video, live on stage at his very best.

Some of you may have been fortunate enough to attend some of Randy’s live events or listen to his generic MLM training CDs etc.

If you have then you’ll know how amazing he is, and if you haven’t then let me have the pleasure of introducing you to Mr Randy Gage!

Watch the first video here: Amateurs versus Professionals

In summary there are 4 basic skills you need to develop to become a Network Marketing Professional:

1) How to make and maintain a candidate list
2) How to work your candidate list
3) How to invite prospects to take a look – (probably the most difficult but remember that you can’t look good & get better at the same time!)
4) Following up

Randy explains that these four skill-sets (and practicing them!) can take you to a $100k per year in Network Marketing.

There are 2 Advanced Skills

5) Doing presentations
6) Leadership Development

How are you doing on that? As I keep saying no matter how great you become with attracting prospects to you, you still need to learn the core skills to enrol people and to build a huge group. (And Randy will be the first to tell you that as he becomes very irritated by claims that you can build a group purely online)

So amateurs do things for free and professionals get paid.

Moving on to the final video for today check this out:

Randy Gage asks the Magic Question

It’s a very short video and a very short question! Leave us your comments and let us know your answer at the blog.

p.s There are a few references to my company here but I think you’ll agree that the value of the training far outweighs that, and the fundamentals are the same whichever company you are working with.

Here I am enjoying the top leadership lifestyle champagne & 6 course recognition dinner in Rome. The diamond lifestyle really does take some beating!

The Conspiracy of the Rich Review – Part 3 – Printing Your Own Money

December 9th, 2009 rhenke Comments

This book really is worth every penny I paid for it. It’s kept me up late at night studying and motivated me to get into action in some new areas of creating financial security.

Here’s the final review documenting my progress with the ‘Conspiracy of the Rich.’

You can see Parts 1 and 2 here at the blog if you need to do a quick catch up:

New Rule of Money

Conspiracy – History in the Making

It’s been an exciting journey so far. Somewhere between Part 1 and Part 2 I had a call from the Rich Dad branding team and unbelievably Robert Kiyosaki created a video just for my blog with an awesome message for Network Marketers in the new economy.

Watch and listen to his message for you here if you didn’t see it yet:

Rich Dad Network Marketing Message

So let’s wrap up the review today.

This is all about learning the new rules of money. It’s a new game or at least it’s an old game but now anyone can learn how to play it if they are willing to invest time and money into their own financial education.

The conspiracy of the rich has been revealed both through this book and also through the frightening reality of the economy today.

For under $10 you can educate yourself on ‘The Language of Money,’ – this is the 6th New Rule of Money.

Robert Kiyosaki says that financial language is deliberately used to confuse us! Well if that is true the financial wizards have certainly done a good job there.

The 7th New Rule of Money: Life is a Team Sport – Choose Your Team Carefully.

This is a particularly interesting one for Network Marketing team builders isn’t it?

Then 8th and Last New Rule of Money: Since Money is Becoming a Worth-less and Less, Learn to Print Your Own!

Some of the book is very shocking and although I like to think of myself as a street savvy kid there was a ton of stuff in the book that I didn’t understand before and that I now have a greater understanding of.

Here are a couple of great quotes from the book to get you thinking and whet your appetite to start reading:

‘Wall Street is the only place that people ride to in a Rolls-Royce to get advice from those who take the subway.’

‘The Federal Reserve is not American, not federal, has no reserves, and is not a bank.’

What do you think about that? Confusing hah?

‘The people with the most security are in prison. That’s why it’s called ‘maximum security.’

When you don’t have money, think and use your head. Never give into the poor person inside you.’

So how can you beat the conspiracy of the rich and print your own money?

The strongest message I got from the book was about the need to learn the language of money now.

Robert Kiyosaki talks in detail about how to diversify. He says most people think they are diversifying when they own various stocks on the stock market. (He refers to the stock market as gambling and advocates taking out insurance if you want to do it)

Here is a brief overview of how Rich Dad prints his own money and diversifies:

Invests in his own businesses
Invests in Real Estate for CASHFLOW (not capital gains)
Invests in the Stock Market
Invests in Gold and Silver. (This seems to be his way of saving, rather than holding cash)

If you’re new to thinking out of the financial box and are not yet familiar with the famous ‘cashflow quadrant,’ and the core principles of investing and the advantages of becoming a business owner then I highly recommend that you start with ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad.’

This is education for adults in the basics of the financial and business world that we didn’t learn in school.

If you haven’t yet read ‘The Conspiracy of the Rich,’ but are concerned about this economy and your financial future then this really is a must read for you.

I’m going to read it again in a few months so I can properly digest all the information and apply it as I develop my financial knowledge.

Take heed my good reader. Robert Kiyosaki predicts that the worse is far from over. He thinks the economy will take another big nose dive in the next couple of years when the next wave of ‘mortage resets’ come into play. (see P191)

He talks of the middle class being wiped out and more and more people living in ’shanty towns,’ on the outskirts of prosperous cities where the rich who understand the language of money live.

Robert has predicted many things in the past, that are already coming true, such as the massive wave of baby boomers retiring with no pension so I’m not going to be sitting on my laurels. (Whatever they are!)

If you are not yet building a Network Marketing business that is creating cashflow for you, and passive income for your future, listen to the short video message that I made especially for you here about the new economy and what you can do about it:

Special note: This offer is not for the curious. This is for those who are actually looking for a new business now. I am not looking to get you out of a business you are already in and happy with. I am looking for those who are looking for me!

Complete your details here to get your free access to ‘Safe is the New Risky,’ to learn more about how you can start creating cashflow and ‘printing your own money’ with a business model that is working in this economy.

Attraction Marketing for MLM in the New Economy – Part 1

October 8th, 2009 rhenke Comments

Part 1 – New School & Old School MLM Exposed…

It seems pretty clear that everything has changed in MLM with the new economy.

Online MLM or Attraction Marketing has swept through the industry over the last couple of years. Today we’ll take a look at how things have changed due to the recession or ‘new economy.’

There is a continuous (and fairly irritating) debate about what we should do in MLM to build our business these days. It’s known as the ‘old school, new school’ debate.

Many Network Marketing professionals say we should stick to tried and tested methods such as making a list of candidates and calling them about our new business.

Some of the new school online Network Marketers wrinkle their noses up in disdain and almost spit at you if you as much as dare suggest that strategy.

So what’s the best way to build your MLM business in this new economy?

I think we have come a long way and it is now possible to generate free leads every day for your business with purely online methods – If you have an effective MLM ATTRACTION MARKETING FUNNEL in place!

If not then all you are doing online when you zoom around Facebook bumping into people, is the same as you do offline! That’s ok if it works for you.

I prefer to know that I have a system in place that my team can plug into and use to generate leads online, and that prospects can check out our MLM even if we’re not glued to our computers all day long networking.

Make sense?

If you happen to be out in the real world having a coffee with someone you know and like why would you not mention that you have a great home business?

The only reason I can think of is if you don’t think it’s all that great! (If that’s the case then find a new one that you can be proud of)

People are desperate for a financial solution so in this new economy it is not the time to be an undercover MLM agent!

A common desire of people joining Network Marketing is to help others succeed. Keep that in mind and remember that your MLM opportunity could indeed change someone’s life.

Anyhow the point being online and offline work equally well if you want them to, but its all about the way you operate. Are you a Network Marketing professional both on and offline?
I am as bored as you probably are of hearing all the hype about how to generate 1 zillion leads a day ‘effortlessly’ blah blah blah.

On the other hand I’m also bored of hearing that we can’t duplicate online with social media and online methods. You just watch me, I think!

It is madness. Social Media is here to stay and it is our online neighbourhood, so we had better learn to play nicely and instead of lobbing vampires at each other why not build our financial security instead?

In this new economy I feel it is our obligation to notify people we care about of what we are doing. You don’t have to ‘pitch’ them and they don’t have to join for goodness sake! Just let them know in a professional way.

I’ve never bought into all that hype about ‘losing friends and family,’ etc. If you don’t have good training on invitation and prospecting skills then get some!

If you don’t have good friends then ummmm… look for some who will support you in your quest for an abundant life.

There is so much great MLM training available. Visit Randy Gage or Eric Worre and learn how to invite people to review your MLM without begging or crying.

These MLM professionals are giving mega generic MLM training freely and more importantly both of them are huge producers in an MLM business right now!

There really is no need for all that drama.. honestly.

3rd party tools (CDs, DVDs, Websites, 3 Way Calls, Live Business Presentations) can all deliver the message for you.

You don’t have to be the message – just the messenger.

I highly recommend setting up your own online MLM funnel but please don’t buy into all this hype about not talking to anyone you know.

As with everything there is a correct way to do things so make sure you’re getting the training you need to be an attractive marketer both on and offline in this new economy.

If you need a solution for your MLM online funnel go here to set yours up easily, without having to study internet marketing until your hair turns grey: Attraction Marketing MLM System

So are you old school, new school or just ‘in school?’ Leave a comment on the blog to let us know what you think!

The next part of this Attraction Marketing training series will be about how to drive your offline prospects online to your Attraction Marketing website (I don’t mean by doing flyers either so don’t worry about that!)

Have a great day and if you like this blog please share the love on the buttons below.

Why Do So Many Global MLM Leaders Not Promote Online Attraction Marketing?

August 7th, 2009 rhenke Comments

It’s an interesting question and one that puzzles and/or irritates many. I could probably write a book about it but the sun is shining and I’m going off on my holidays to Spain in a few days, so today I will share just a few of my thoughts with you on the fascinating topic of MLM leaders.

If you’ve read my e-book 7 Pieces of the Attraction Marketing Puzzle, you’ll know that I’m not ‘new school’ or ‘old school.’ I’m not against any of it, rather I am for a lot of it!

I prefer to focus on the good stuff and leave behind the stuff that doesn’t work for me. I’ve long since quit worrying who approves of what I do or what my upline, sideline or any other line think of it!

I’m having great results building a ‘You Inc’ business and the time is right in my opinion to harness the power of the internet to attract prospects to you.

Some like to do this by using social media to expand their warm market, and then when the time is right they introduce their MLM business.

Others like me focus on giving value through the use of social media and attracting or magnetically pulling prospects into their online marketing funnel.

Others try to automate the entire process which I think works for internet marketing but is a difficult road to take for internet network marketing.

Whatever way we attract prospects to look at our business the bottom line is still that we need to build relationships and get to know people. I just find it a lot more productive to do that by using some automated tools to sort out the real prospects before I invest much time into them.

So back to the question of the day about global MLM leaders and why they so often don’t promote attraction marketing, and are even quite negative about it.

Here are some of my thoughts as to why this is and it may help you to get clear on your position and the road you want to take to expand your business.

There is so much confusion brought about by many traditional leaders being anti online attraction marketing and many ‘new school’ leaders being anti everything else!

Here’s what you may want to consider before you shoot someone down for their position in the old school, new school debate.

1) MLM leaders with thousands of people in their organisations, spanning many time zones, countries and languages cannot lightly change their daily method of operation without affecting all of those people in their downline.

2) Online attraction marketing for MLM is very specialized. Many people will not have the patience or the time to apply themselves to learn how to do it effectively. I believe any one can learn how to do it because we have amazing training available these days, but the reality is that not everyone wants to sit for hours at their computer learning a whole new marketing method.

3) MLM leaders are hesitant of promoting something that they think can cost their downline a lot of time and money if they get it wrong. They often do not understand that there are a ton of ways to generate leads online that cost nothing or if you use a funded proposal such as Magnetic Sponsoring, you can actually get into profit very quickly.

4) Online MLM attraction marketing can be very distracting for those who do not work with a strong team that is focussed on their MLM business. They get online to build their MLM but if they don’t have a system they can end up jumping from one thing to the other, promoting this and that and completely losing their focus on their MLM. Why would a global MLM leader think this is a good idea?

5) Internet and training resources. The online attraction marketing model works fabulously with good training and systems for those in English speaking markets with high speed internet access.

My question to you then is ‘what about the rest?’

If you’re building MLM online and focussed on USA, UK, Canada and Australia then happy days. What if like me and many others you have team members in other countries?

I have downline in Nigeria. The guys in Nigeria have the most amazing entrepreneurial spirit. I still am yet to speak to a prospect who hasn’t read ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad,’ by Robert Kiyosaki. It’s incredible!

These guys are building business the social, offline way. They love the idea of internet network marketing but the technology over there just does not permit them to attend webinars and access the training sites that one needs to access to understand how to build the business with attraction marketing.

Taking into consideration all of these things I fully understand why leaders in my upline such as Randy Gage and Eric Worre tread carefully with what they promote.

They and many other MLM leaders have an obligation to provide the best training and leadership to build their group in their MLM. This is quite a challenge when you have fast expanding downline in 50 countries!

It reminds me of the famous ‘butterfly effect.’ The slightest flutter of the wings can have huge implications further down the line.

Most global MLM leaders have our best interests at heart and understand that to build a huge group it is best to stick to the core principles and to keep it simple. I don’t buy into all that negative stuff about your upline not telling you this and that! They have nothing to gain by sabotaging you and most of them are doing their best.

Leaders find leaders and many of those leaders will shoot off and create their own systems that suit their style, skill-set and cultural setting.

Randy Gage has a saying about MLM duplication that goes something like this and I paraphrase, ‘a large group of people taking a few simple actions over a sustained period of time.’

Here’s your challenge! If you want to build a global MLM business that throws off passive income for the rest of your lifetime and beyond how are you going to create that type of consistency using the internet?

That’s why I created my own simple marketing system with a step by step process to build a Network Marketing business with attraction marketing, as opposed to just generating a lot of leads online.

I’m incredibly passionate about the opportunity that online attraction marketing presents us with, and if you’re ready to step up and build your business in this exciting way you can read more from me and get access to the resources I use here: Attraction Marketing Free e-book

Just bear in mind if you’re committed to building an MLM business we still need to respect other ways of building the business that work for thousands of people all over the world, and a big tip I’d like to give you is that it is essential to have an effective offline system in place also, if you want to build globally and tap into other markets.

Have a great day and I’ll try and check in from Sunny Spain!

p.s I’ll be officially launching the 7 Pieces Attraction Marketing System for generic use (any MLM) due to popular demand, upon my return. You can check out the details here: 7 Pieces Attraction Marketing System

How do you position your MLM Products and MLM Opportunity in this ‘new’ economy?

June 26th, 2009 rhenke Comments

prosperity

Happy weekend to you!

I’ve been thinking about price positioning of MLM business opportunities and products, in this ‘new’ economy.

I have had several conversations with new distributors lately who voiced concerns about the cost of their various business opportunities and whether they are able to build a business during this time.

Here’s a story for you about when I first got started in Network Marketing, with my first company, several years ago, and I voiced the same concerns. My sponsor, (who is an awesome super star!) put me straight as follows:

He said something like this, ‘you can lose weight and get the best nutrition on the planet into your body twice a day for the price of a happy meal!’

What’s important about that? Well it woke me up! I mean I knew the products were excellent and I was receiving great benefits myself, as were my customers but still I was a little fearful of the price.

The difference was that he had the perspective of time to know that when you have an excellent product that has already proven to be a winner, people will buy it from whoever is selling it with the correct price positioning, even if it is ‘expensive.’

If someone said, ‘it’s expensive,’ you could say ‘compared to what?’ And how true is that? I mean people pay so much more for their unhealthy habits than they do for their healthy ones!

The interesting thing is that new distributors will worry about the pricing even if the economy is booming because they have nothing to compare their business or product to. Help them with that.

So my point here is that it is a matter of personal choice. Unless you’re selling Lamborghinis to Eskimos you probably have a very good chance of doing just as well and probably better in this economy.

It will depend on a couple of things though as follows:

Do you believe your product or business is truly valuable? If you believe that and have some basic training about how to position your offer in the marketplace, like in the aforementioned example, nothing can stop you. (Unless of course you don’t do enough offering!)

Your mindset. If you are allowing yourself to be influenced by the news, and the regular jobnicks who are likely to be spreading the doom and gloom message of recession you will quickly be so depressed you’ll be unable to be the agent of change that we need you to be in this economy. Big tip: Turn off the T.V!

Your posture. Magical internet attraction marketing or not… the day will come when you are speaking to your real life prospects on the phone and they will ask you about the costs to get involved. If you are apologetic and think they are doing you a favour to join then no amount of lead generation will build your business for you.

Of course there are some things to bear in mind and you might want to ask yourself the following questions:

1) Is your business primarily focussed around retail?
If so my advice would be to change your focus to recruiting! This is a time when people are looking to make money, not to spend money for the sake of it.

Is your product a non consumable or luxury item? I won’t name specifics here but the key is to have a product that people get bonded with and need to re-order every month. When there is a recession people go into a lack mindset and even if they are unaffected by the situation themselves economically, they may still feel a sense of guilt when buying something they don’t really ‘need.’

This is not the case if they are bonded with their product and need to use a certain amount to be active in their business. (2 reasons to invest in themselves)

2) Are you able to attract serious business people to your opportunity as business builders? As far as I can see the next couple of years are giving us a huge window of opportunity to attract some of the big players from other industries who need to find another way to create income.

(These captains of industry are likely to be looking for an innovative product, a company that is positioned for huge growth and a business model that they can operate from home with a laptop and the internet)

As one of my upline likes to say ‘I am not participating in the recession!’ Are you?

For more info on how to evaluate an MLM company and business model click here.

For more info on maintaining a mindset of prosperity that will buffer you through the negative stuff that may surround you go here.

Make it a great day and as always please share the love with the buttons below and share your comments. They are much appreciated.

Should attraction marketers be open and proud about their MLM, or should they hide it?

June 1st, 2009 rhenke Comments

proud-athlete

There were some interesting comments the other day in response to this blog about MLM Online Systems I wrote.

Vincent was questioning whether as attraction marketers we need to hide our MLM opportunity or whether we can be proud of it.

Knowing when to introduce your MLM is a common concern with the new online attraction marketing business model.

Let’s look at (or remind you of) a couple of things here which I hope will guide you to a good place where you can feel comfortable and focussed about what you’re doing:

1) Always feel proud of your MLM business and don’t be ashamed of that. If you are not proud then I highly recommend having a good long think about why that is. Attraction Marketing is not an excuse to become an undercover agent who never prospects for your primary business unless someone begs to join you!

Jerry made a great comment and has some info on his blog about how to evaluate an MLM, so unless you are doing your business for love alone make sure you are in the right one for what you want to accomplish.

MLM Rockstar, the training audio by Randy Gage is freely accessible on this blog and gives the best overview of how to evaluate an MLM that I have yet to hear. It does introduce his company (and mine) on the back end as an example of a ‘category 4 company’ so only go there if you are open to listen to what’s going on with other companies.

This is actually a perfect example of how someone like Randy Gage gives value and attracts the right people to him. He advocates traditional marketing but notice how he attracts people in a magnetic way even with the old style model.

He does have strong opinions about what he likes in the industry and a very unique training style. It’s also an example of how I introduce an evaluation tool for MLM which works very well for those looking for a change and those new to the industry.

2) When building a ‘You Inc’ business model, your MLM is on the back end and your affiliate programmes are on the front. They sift and sort your prospects to attract quality people to you, and generate cash flow to fund your business.

3) Everything revolves around giving value. Whenever in doubt about what to do with your prospects, especially those who already understand MLM, say to yourself ‘what can I do to give value to this person in their marketing?’ (It could be as simple as sharing the email marketing system you use to build your list) This is not because you are seeking a new role as Mother Theresa either… It is simply the most effective way to do business and fortunately is very enjoyable and you will also be paid handsomely for it.

4) Once you have your customised marketing funnel in place and are giving value through auto-responders, blogs, and consulting with new affiliates, you will have built up sufficient credit with your list to be able to invite them to review what you have going on, where appropriate.

5) Set your customised funnel so that people can find details about your MLM so that if they are in the right place for a new opportunity they can click on your links, connect with you and let you know.

6) When you do a free consultation and assist that person you can ask them towards the end, if they would like to know more about working with your team. You can gauge when to ask this question by the responses they have given you throughout the consultation. (In case you cannot bear rejection!)

Top Tips for switching into the new business model (after years of conditioning in the old.. like me, it is a mindset shift to work on!)

Remember: It is the opposite of chasing, pitching and often repelling your prospects! It is based on having a real business where you are through your own commitment and learning, becoming more attractive to your target market because you have skills that can assist them with their MLM success.

If you are brand new and feel out of your depth that is okay. Just plug in with a training system and start to change that now. Follow your mentor and stick with it. It will be become lots of fun quickly – I promise!

If you feel the urge to pitch someone but have not qualified them as someone who is actually looking for a new opportunity then STOP yourself! Everyone is not your prospect for your MLM – they can seek you out through your marketing funnel, and find you, upon which you can introduce your MLM when/if they indicate interest.

What is amazing about this? 99% of people you speak to will not join your MLM. Get over it! Don’t cry.. it’s just the way it is. Even if they spin you a yarn about thinking it over until next blah blah just count that as a no for now. ‘Forever maybe’ prospects nearly killed me in the past! I don’t wish that upon you so pre-qualify your prospects.

Ok so what’s amazing Rachel? The amazing thing is that now you can make money and build a business relationship with fabulous MLM people even if they don’t join your MLM business now. They will be your wonderful affiliates and you can bless them and assist them with a win-win situation.

Do you really understand how powerful this is? If you do then you are already on your way to building a huge ‘you inc’ automated cash machine I am sure.

If you still don’t get it then there are a couple of things you can do as follows:

Join Renegade Professional and learn how to build your customised marketing machine. (This is the most incredible step by step training for how to set things up online that I have ever experienced)

You can have free access to this monthly membership site here and the Professional level will be opening up very soon I am happy to say. Mike Klingler had so many new students join that they had to close for 2 months to recover from the massive wave!

If you prefer one off investments and are computer literate and disciplined enough to learn from a manual then study Mike Dillard’s new Traffic Formula II which will be released on 4th June. A little bird tells me there will be an introductory offer so grab that if you’ve been sitting on the fence. (This gives you a free and highly converting and profitable affiliate programme to add to your customised marketing funnel when you invest in any one or more of the training materials)

Many people have asked me whether they need both or are they just the same? Well if you read my free e-book ‘7 Pieces’ e-book… you’ll be able to get more specifics on how and why I use both for my own training and as funded proposals for myself and my team.

As a word of warning for the budget conscious – Traffic Formula will not be a quick fix buy it and it’s the only thing you’re ever going to need (the holy grail magic medicine) so I recommend you buy it only if you are ready to study some new material and put aside the time to read and apply it. Otherwise it will be a perfectly amazing training course collecting dust on your shelf.

Renegade Professional suits all levels – right through from beginner to advanced but is a small monthly investment to get your education so check them both out and see what suits your learning style. (This is also an affiliate programme so by attracting a couple of new affiliates it pays for your education)

Last tip of the day. Start a Wordpress Blog (this self-hosted kind) if you didn’t already, and start generating your own unique prospects with attraction marketing so you can experience the power of building this ‘You Inc’ business model where you generate multiple streams of income and learn the skills to become a six figure earner that owns your own business 100%.

Make it a great day!

p.s I’m a Super Guide with Renegade University or Renegade Professional as it’s known, so I can help you to get started with that, and I have been an affiliate of Magnetic Sponsoring for 2 years, I own and have studied the courses so again if you have questions I can most likely assist you! :)

p.s.s I don’t pretend to have all the answers but this is my genuine opinion, based on what’s working for me now and how best to implement it.

MLM Online Systems – What’s the best? Turnkey (Cookie-Cutter) or Customised?

May 26th, 2009 rhenke Comments

scales1

As more and more network marketers join us online the options they have for setting up their MLM business online are multiplying at the speed of light!

Today I’ll cover some of the advantages and drawbacks to the two main types of systems available so that those just setting up online can make an informed decision about how to go forward:

The Turnkey MLM system (Cookie-Cutter)

This is the most tempting on first look because it usually promises to do everything for you (soon it will be cooking your dinner!) I’ve bought into many a ’system’ like this because it just seems so simple, and because I was lacking the skills I needed to set up my own customised system.

Benefits of the turnkey system:

Set up immediately for you so minimal effort from you (although of course you still need to market it!)

You can get into action quickly and not spend time setting up your website

Easy to get others in your downline set up also

May look very professional and impressive

Drawbacks:

It is owned by someone else who you may not even know so you have no control over it and no idea what the owner’s agenda is.

You could wake up tomorrow and find that the system is closing down, as has happened to me in the past.

Turnkey systems are available on a mass scale so before you know it – you are seeing thousands of identical sites all over the internet and all with an identical message.

The owner will no doubt be promoting their own MLM which is fair enough, so if you bring your team on board to use the system who knows where it may lead?

(There are some exceptions to this of course and you will need to do your due diligence)

The Customised MLM System ( My favourite)

Benefits of the customised MLM system:

You can own your own unique capture pages and websites which is much easier today than you may think.

You can set up customised sites for your team with their own branded capture page and auto-responder messages

You can make it available just to your team members so the internet doesn’t become completely swamped with the system, and of course you provide value and incentive to join you.

Your team members are empowered to own their own ‘list’ no matter what may happen with their MLM. (This builds security)

You can help them to get started immediately by providing this system thereby overcoming the usual technical issues and learning curve for newbies on the internet

Your team members can take it to the next level and create their own system or component parts if they wish to because that is what you’re teaching and empowering them to do with the customised system.

Therefore you can either join a working attraction marketing team using a system which is unique to your group, or you can create your own.

Drawbacks

Can’t think of any except that you need to learn some new skills and take the time to brand yourself online.

On a final note if you feel overwhelmed with all of this you are not alone! This is why the opportunity to establish yourself as a leader online has never been greater.

If you are fearful of creating your own system just remember that these skills are all learnable as long as you plug into a good training system and have patience with yourself as you learn.

The industry legends that are really well known for their ’systems’ such as Randy Gage, (offline systems) Mike Dillard and Ann Sieg, (online systems) ruffled a lot of feathers when they began to preach their new message.

Do you think that when Randy Gage started branding himself with his ‘duplication’ message the leaders of the day all clapped their hands?

When Mike Dillard set up his systems did everyone say, ‘oh right okay let’s stop doing traditional MLM right now and follow Mike?’

And when Ann Sieg hit the big time… well we all know what happened there and she is still ruffling feathers now with her ‘anti old-school’ message and ‘7 Lies.’.

So what’s my point?>

Duplication is absolutely necessary to build your team but you can be the first one in your system if you want to be! There comes a time in MLM where you just have to say, ‘okay enough is enough. Now this is my time and I am going to be the leader and do things that make sense to me.’

For more details of what I recommend you provide to your team to be successful with attraction marketing read (or re-read!) Piece 4, ‘How do you duplicate when it all seems so complicated?‘of my book – ‘The 7 Pieces of the Attraction Marketing Puzzle,’

Could Failing In Your MLM Be The Best Thing That Ever Happened To You?

Sounds like an odd thing to say I know! When you are in the midst of ‘failure’ or are just recovering and regrouping it may be difficult to think this way.

The thing is I got to thinking the other day about how life has a funny way of working out. Many times we fail miserably at things only to find something much better suited to our talents further into our life’s journey.

In ‘the Science of Getting Rich,’ by Wallace Wattles this is covered in detail. If you are in need of inspiration I highly recommend this amazing free little ebook.

The truth is that when we fail we are forced to look within. My first MLM experience was a harsh one. In many ways I loved it and I did have some success – just not the long term residual type that I was after.

I did however learn some skills that I probably would not be able to develop under easier circumstances. When your back is up against the wall you may find that you become more daring and creative.

Failure therefore is a mixed blessing. I know some guys who have joined MLMs and made it to the top very quickly. There are a few of those inspiring success stories in our industry and I love to hear them.

On the other hand I bet it must be very difficult for those lucky few to relate to the pain and frustration of the MLM masses who take soooooooooo long to reach the top, if indeed they ever do.

Relate-ability is a huge thing in a people business such as this. We often say, ‘well if he can do it, I can do it.’ If you have really been through it and you have a story, even if it isn’t a diamond one just yet, you may find you have more to give those getting started, than the guys at the very top.

If you’ve been round the block a few times, have been in several MLMs and not made it to the degree that you aspire then this just may be the best thing that ever happened to you.

How so? Well you have something to measure your success, your MLM company, your team, your activity against don’t you?

You’re not an MLM virgin who thinks that because the company website says so your products are the only good ones in the world! You have come of age and you have developed respect for other companies and leaders in the Network Marketing industry.

When I was in my first company I thought there was no other company that could match it! I was so starry eyed and naïve it is quite amazing when I look back.

Knowing what is out there will help you to become a significant force in the industry, not just in your company.

For instance, if I had been making $20k per month in my first MLM in my first couple of years it would have been unlikely that I would have felt compelled to search for what in my opinion, is a much better opportunity for me and my team members today.

Okay so who wouldn’t want to earn that kind of money quickly and become an MLM Rockstar?

Most would want to but if the business wasn’t meeting your expectations in other ways and you felt perhaps that your success was at the expense of others in your team, instead of as a result of their success, you might feel different.

But it would be harder to make the break wouldn’t it?

It is also unlikely that I would have pushed myself to research the industry and to learn other ways of doing things such as working with online attraction marketing and the different skill set that entails, if I hadn’t have experienced dissatisfaction using other methods.

If I hadn’t done thousands of flyers in the rain, stood in shopping precincts surveying people, driven around the county doing one on one presentations and product demonstrations, and fallen flat on my face so many times, I don’t think I would have the compassion that I have now for those in the business who work so hard to make their dreams come true.

It is a challenging and tough journey for most in MLM. The drama and the excitement are difficult to match in other business arenas though and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

So when you’re feeling a little down that you didn’t make diamond yet just remember these things:

  • Your story is unique and will inspire people to keep on going towards their dreams.
  • When you leave something behind no matter how painful, you create a vacuum that will be filled by something better if you let it.
  • Randy Gage, MLM Legend, didn’t make any money in his first 5 years in MLM.
  • Mike Dillard, of Magnetic Sponsoring, didn’t either (and was fearful of making phone calls to his prospects!)
  • Failure whilst not to be dwelt on is a trigger for looking within and deciding that you will improve your skill set and find the right vehicle and business building methods for you.

Do you have an inspiring MLM story to share? Please share with our blog readers – we’d love to hear it.
