Authors have author-ity and whether you just whip up a special report or go in deep and write a book, the benefits will be many.
If you don’t like writing and keep putting it off consider hiring someone else to do it. In my copywriting experience this will only work well if you have a very clear outline for them to follow.
As a budding or established expert in your niche you know all your ‘stuff’ so it’s easy to share it but you must get over the hump and begin.
What you need is a systematic way to deliver it on and off the internet so that you can reach more of your delicious clients and customers. Am I right?
The principles for creating your report and niche expert speech or book are the same. You could write an article a week for a year and have plenty of material for a book.
I prefer to get things done quickly. I know a year goes by in a flash but year-long goals don’t do it for me. So let’s cover how you can create your niche expert report this week! 
Get a blank piece of paper and pen or create a new mind map if that works better for you.
Jot down the main elements of your business service or product.
What does it do?
What does it/ you deliver?
What does your ideal client want to know before buying your product or investing in your service?
What is the big promise for them if they do move forward with you? (This should be directly related to your unique selling proposition and niche expert topic)
What are their concerns before they invest in this product or service?
Think of 5 or 7 things you want them to know so that you can use your report to ‘fish’ for your ideal clients.
Anticipate their concerns and address them.
You can make the report as short or as long as you want. If you’re a natural writer go with the flow and make it an enjoyable and educational read – anything from 5 – 30 pages with large font works well.
If you’re not so good on the writing make it a couple of pages but pack them with valuable tips. Don’t be vague and fluffy. Please don’t use a couple of pages for self promotion or they’ll be unsubscribing faster than you can celebrate their sign up!
Your niche expert report needs to warm up your subscribers so they read it and think ‘hmmm that’s exactly what I need.’
It’s like planting seeds.
Make sure it talks to them in a language they understand. You should know this already if you have done your market research, got clarity on your niche expert topic and know what you are delivering.
If you haven’t then hold off on the report until you have that in place.
Keep the information light but power packed. Add an introduction about how you came to create, use the product or do what you do. This gives the personal touch so that your reader can begin to relate to and feel connected with you as a real person.
The body of the report is your 7 tips or 5 secrets or whatever. Now the work begins!
Bash out as much relevant info as you can think of on each tips or mini topic.
Don’t agonise over it – use a timer and give yourself 10 minutes for each tip. Perfection destroys creativity so leave it behind while you do this!
Read it all through, spell check, edit as needed.
Leave it to rest overnight and you may have some AHAs come up as you realise you’ve missed some important points out.
Read again the next day. Make sure it’s congruent with what you stand for and deliver.
Add in your bio and resource links to your products and services with a call to action at the end. (A reason to move forward with you or your product)
That’s it. It’s simple, right? You can adapt this report and use it as your signature speech for live events or tele-seminars and you can even develop the concepts into your book or information product.
You have to start somewhere by injecting your expertise into an easy to access product and the easiest way to start is with a free niche expert giveaway to build your list or database.
Remember that for people to exchange their contact details with you it must be a compelling message that speaks to them and it also weeds out the people who are not your ideal clients.
