Clients often ask me, ‘how can I get people to act on my emails & blogs?’
In this week’s challenge I’ll give you my insider tips that you can use to get your emails and your blogs read and clicked on.
Getting them read isn’t enough on it’s own if you want to make money but it’s a great place to start.
There are lots of people I bump into online who write great blogs and emails which people read but they haven’t mastered the art of the call to action.
After all, what’s the point of having your stuff read if no one takes the action you want them to take?
You may want your readers to apply for a strategy session with you or to order your book or to check out a new product you’re recommending.
It doesn’t really matter what it is but it matters that you train your people to take the action that you want them to take.
I was reading a popular blog this morning and I noticed how hesitant the normally very confident best-selling author was in asking for the sale on something other than her book.
You must practice selling things through your blogs and emails or when the time comes for you to finally promote your new course or coaching programme, your people will be surprised that you want them to actually buy something!
Here are 3 ways to get your people more engaged with your blogs and emails by using what is known in marketing as a CALL TO ACTION.
1) Don’t be apologetic that you want your readers, clients or subscribers to do something specific. Even if this is new for you trust me when I tell you that your people are looking for leadership. Put a call to action out there every single time you create content, even if it’s just to ask for a comment or a share on your blog.
2) Direct readers and ask several times for the same thing. People scan emails and blogs and it’s easy to miss the call to action. Just in the same way that a teacher repeats important points several times, you need to do the same if you want people to digest your message and take the action you recommend they take.
3) Use explicit calls to action to get your people to click on links you want them to click on, as in, Click here to discover how to turn your emails into cash now. Remember that people reading your blog posts and emails are looking for solutions to their problems so being shy about how you can help them doesn’t serve them or you.
This week’s challenge is to practice your CTA’s or Call to Actions in your next blog post or email to your subscribers.
If you want your people to get great results you have to get used to advising them and training them to take the action you recommend.

p.s Don’t be discouraged if you don’t have many comments as it doesn’t mean people aren’t reading or clicking on your links to check out your services.
Look at some of the biggest blogs in your industry and you’ll see that even people with hundreds of thousands of followers don’t have more than a few hundred comments and that’s when they’re really working the ‘Call to Action’ hard.
