I promised my freedom ezine readers that I’d share more on what I’m up to as I experiment with playing full out and fearlessly both in my business and life.
This week I’ve been experimenting with just showing up and doing what’s in front of me.
I recently wrote about how freeing it can be to stop being so attached to your outcomes and I’ve been experimenting with this for over a year now in various ways.
Sometimes it feels like I’m really playing full out and fearlessly and sometimes it seems like an intangible dream. Guess what? That’s completely dependent on my state of mind when I look at it.
When your state of mind fluctuates you may be relieved to hear that it doesn’t mean that you’re not worthy or that you’re suffering from ‘imposter syndrome.’
I used to think I had to woman up and push through to reach my goals so that I could then feel great. How screwed up is that? It’s a wonderful relief to no longer be walking that fear driven path and to allow myself to feel great whatever the outcome.
You may be wondering what I’m talking about and what does showing up and doing what’s in front of you, really entail?
Here’s an example; I was out walking with Honey again the other day and it just occurred to me to make you another quick video:
It didn’t feel difficult and I didn’t have to psyche myself up. I wanted to share something with you and it just seemed like a no brainer so I pulled out the camera and started talking.
I know a lot of my ezine subscribers like reading and as an author I love writing so that’s not going to stop BUT I’m going to make videos when it seems like the obvious thing to do.
Do you see the difference between the usual entrepreneurial adrenalin driven mindset of, ‘I will get this video done today even if I hate the idea of doing it!’ (The thinking is that then you can supposedly be happy because you faced the fear.)
So the message here isn’t about whether you create videos or not. You don’t have to create videos to be successful or happy …
It’s about doing the next obvious thing that’s in front of you or as my coach likes to say, ‘it’s as simple as deciding to have a cup of tea.’
Feeling relieved? Or do you prefer to push, strive and psyche yourself up to ‘do business’ whilst feeling the fear and doing it anyway?
And as much as the inside out understanding of trusting your inner wisdom that I talk about in the video, has a spiritual feel to it, there are so many practical benefits that I feel called to share it with you whatever your spiritual leaning.
If you don’t think of yourself as spiritual then that’s no problem. I’m guessing if you’re reading this that you are human and most likely a heart-centred entrepreneur so this is relevant to you no matter what spiritual department you may or may not be in!
I’d love to hear from you so leave a comment below to let me know what you think.
