I know this is an MLM blog and as a networking community we sometimes have a tendency to become very focussed on MLM jargon. This can mean that you are missing out on something huge in these times of recession. Are you missing out on the silver lining of the recession?
One of the major attributes of Network Marketers is that we are encouraged to engage in personal development and develop the right mindset for prosperity.
That’s great but what’s also important, especially now, is to understand how your prospects are feeling and thinking about this ‘new economy.’ What is their recession mindset and how can you reach them?
If you are focussed purely on attracting Network Marketers online then you know the ‘lingo’ but if you want to tap into these huge new lead pools of hot prospects that have been instantly created by the new economy and recession then you will need to be talking to THEM in your marketing.
Never before, at least since the advent of social media and easy internet access, has there been such an opportunity to attract such a large group of talented and professional people who have suddenly found themselves vulnerable and running scared.
In the past these people have often been too ‘secure’ and successful to be tempted into anything as ‘risky’ as a Network Marketing or home business. All of that looks very different now with the new economy and many people are finally starting to understand that being paid on their results is actually safer than relying on a salary! (Only if you are a results driven person though of course)
As a Network Marketer you have probably already been educated to understand that job security is always an illusion, but still when the majority of people don’t see it that way it doesn’t really help us!
Now we are seeing that ‘Safe is the new risky,’ and that many professionals in the corporate world realise they have a target on their back.. and many independent small business owners have seen their income suddenly drop, if not disappear.
As there is no safety and security in a job or traditional business anymore, they are looking for something else to be their safety net right?
This is where we come in and as you probably know already the direct selling and Network Marketing industry is booming.
I highly recommend that you get yourself geared up to tap into this. Otherwise you may find that you are talking to the wrong prospects in the ‘wrong way.’
To be successful in this soft economy or recession or whatever you want to label it, you need to get into the shoes of your prospects.
Everything has changed. This is a new game – not only in online network marketing but also in the world of business.
Get clear on what you have to offer that will resonate with these professional people as you don’t want to miss this boat! The industry is booming but let’s make sure its booming for you too.
I hear many Network Marketers seduced by the media and ‘the herd’ into talking in the language of the ‘prospect.’ They are complaining about money and looking for a ‘cheap’ business. Please understand that if you talk as if you’re a prospect you cannot be a solution provider for new prospects who are looking for a lifeline!
People are looking for leadership and ‘security,’ now more so than ever.
Here’s my big tip for you today: Research these new markets of professionals who may suddenly be open to looking at a home business. Get into their mindset so you can attract them with your marketing and learn HOW to talk to them.
Warning: Retain your prosperity mindset and be the solution provider! Be alert of falling into that recession mindset so that you don’t become the victim instead.
We have an important job to do and the pie is big enough for all of us. We don’t need to be trying to recruit each other when the whole world is looking for a solution and we have it!
