How Can You Stand Out & Shine Online?

Whether you’re brand new to promoting your business with the internet or you’ve been around for a while you’ll probably have noticed that it is very BUSY here!

There is information overload and people promising you miracles every which way you look. Everyone’s trying to give you something for free right?

It used to be that everyone was trying to sell you something. Well there’s still enough of those people around too. They are the ones that haven’t even got out of the marketing gates who just bang you straight on the head with their link without so much as a hello, and expect you to jump to check it out. (Yeah right!)

You’ve got to be smarter than that to stand out online (and offline too for that matter)

So the trend now is to give you something for free. It must be something of value and is usually a video, a report, an ebook or an audio. You get the picture.

There is SO much information coming at you that you really can afford to be picky. Yes you can now be choosy because there are so many people doing a great job online that you don’t need to take any old riff raff.

So this is great from a research and learning point of view but what about if you’re a coach or consultant on the opposite side of the fence, trying desperately to get your marketing message out?

How on earth can you compete?

How can you stand out online?

Well I will be focussing on these big meaty questions and more in my new book and coaching programs but don’t worry I won’t leave you high & dry now.

I want to give you a clear path today so you can begin right now to stand out from the busy internet crowd so you don’t get trampled under the cyber foot.

As is often the case the best way to help you find your solutions is to coach youself with some questions.

The answers will be different for every coach or consultant (or home based entrepreneur) because we have different and unique business models and services.

So here goes:

1) What is my speciality? (Think about your skills and knowledge here and don’t sell yourself short. If you are in business you need to know this)

2) What can I talk (or write) about all day long quite happily? (This will give you a major clue!)

3) What do my satisfied clients or customers say about what I have to offer? (Ask them for feedback if you’re not sure)

Ok so here’s the three magic questions to get you started. Don’t be tempted to just read them and not answer them. Whip out your notebook & pen and start writing down what comes to mind.

It does not need to be perfect. Just get started and you’ll find as you write you start to tap into your creativity.

If you’re new in business you might find this very difficult. In that case answer the questions from the place you WANT to be.

If you’re established then you will know the answers but if you want to take your business to the next level spend lots of time on this because you will discover some keys to scaling up your business.

So to stand out online the great news is that all you need to do is to position yourself to become the ‘Go To Person,’ authority or expert, in your niche. You can do this for any business and as the online competition increases it is ESSENTIAL that you do this asap.

Otherwise you will be plugging away online with No One (except maybe your cat!) listening to you.

No one gets paid well for specialising in general knowledge!

You get paid 10 x more than others in your niche if you learn to specialise. This is how you will stand out online & become the go to person.

Ok are you ready? Make sure you take some time to dig deep and write down the answers to those questions.

Go grab your niche and position yourself as the expert … you can do this locally, nationally, globally using the internet – whatever suits your business model.
