You may be asking yourself this and going round and round in circles as so many creative people do.
“After all,” the inner critic says, “what if it doesn’t work out? You’ll look like a right silly fool then.”
And so you spin your own web to get stuck in.
You can FEEL you are here to do something more meaningful than you’re doing right now and although you may not realise it, you long to find your niche and align it with your life purpose.
You sign up for this and sign up for that, because you’re on the path of the seeker.
You buy this course and that course and discover some very useful tactics and start to understand how to be a more effective marketer.
But although you devour some wonderful morsels, you’re overfed but undernourished and go full circle back to feeling hollow and not in flow with your passionate life purpose.
You might compare this external hunt to the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz who yearns for courage to be given to him but discovers in his journey of self discovery that he is courageous all along.
You see dear reader your life purpose is already within you. How you were born to express yourself in this world has been with you from the beginning and if it’s not clear to you yet, perhaps you are missing what is right under your nose.
We have a tendency to complicate things and sometimes we’re just too fearful to look within to find the answers we seek.
Sometimes the vision we glimpse is just so grand and beautiful that we resist it because we’re scared and don’t feel ready to accept such a bold mission.
This quote from A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson expresses this so perfectly,
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
I’ll leave you today with a few questions so you can be your own coach:
- What grand design have you glimpsed when you look within?
- Is your life purpose aligned with your business niche or are you too busy doing what you ‘should’ do rather than what you are meant to do?
If you’re looking for more purpose and meaning in your life, pondering these questions will help you to find the right path.
