How to Gain More Freedom with an Internet Niche Expert Business

If you’re a coach, consultant or service business you may be wondering if it really is possible to get clients, customers and online sales through the internet.

The answer is yes; absolutely. If you’re working the offline model of networking at local events and 100% of your business is coming from that then it may be a stretch of the imagination for you.

It may seem too good to be true. And in many ways it really is a dream business model.

But as we all know the only free cheese is in the mousetrap so of course it takes some work. It’s a different kind of work from what you may be used to though and can be done with just a laptop, internet connection and some quiet time.

If you’re looking at creating a niche expert presence online I recommend that you keep on doing the activities that you’ve been doing until now, that have been working for you.

Drop the rest and focus on the best methods you have. Create a schedule where you do them consistently so for example if you attend the Chamber of Commerce or BNI then that is easy because you are scheduled according to the meetings.

Create some chunks of time in your schedule and allocate them to online marketing.  You’ll need to learn some new stuff and apply some discipline in your time management. With the new tools we have available these days it is getting easier and easier to create your niche marketing funnel and position yourself as an expert online.

Of course you also need to understand marketing strategy and create a solid plan for implementation so that you avoid overwhelm and don’t drown in boring technical stuff.

Clicking around on your own is a good way to start doing some research but to create a real niche expert business model that will give you time freedom and income from your online activities you’ll probably need to get some expert training.

Setting up your niche expert business online can be complex but it’s learnable. It’s a step by step formula and when done correctly you build a strong foundation as your internet platform and don’t waste time jumping from one fad to the next.

You need to be clear on your expert topic – what could you talk or write about all day long quite happily? What do you specialise in? What are you interested in?

Then you need to do some niche research to check there is good demand for the service or information you will provide as an expert in your chosen niche.

You need to put the key elements of your marketing funnel in place such as a capture page or blog and email marketing system so that you can start to build your list of targeted subscribers who are hungry for what you have to offer.

You’ll need a special report, audio or video which is known as a giveaway. Your goal is to offer high value information relevant to your niche expert topic so that your perfect clients and customers happily sign up to your database to receive it. When you have these things in place you are on your way. The rest is just detail, consistency and action.

It’s a big change from doing everything offline but once your marketing funnel is in place you can begin to gradually switch over to doing as much of your lead generation and marketing online as suits you.

Offline networking will never go out of fashion but it can be a slow cold road for lead generation and take a lot of time with little to show for it. Online lead generation takes time to set up but then gives you much greater time leverage because your business is working when you sleep and take time off. You can also have a national or global reach with the online model.
