This is something I’ve struggled with a lot which is why I wrote my first book a while back about overcoming fear and building confidence for women.
Because my mother died unexpectedly when I was 5 years old I had a really unsettled childhood with multiple homes and family members taking care of me.
Some had it a lot worse than me, that’s for sure. But still it can be tough, and being unsettled as a child plays havoc with your confidence.
That’s why my number one mission in life is to make sure that my two girls have a really stable and loving upbringing.
As a result I think they are now more confident and have a better self image than me even after all these years of personal development!
As for prosperity, well there’s no contest. They’ve been brought up listening to Jim Rohn and Randy Gage so they don’t even question it.
They feel that they deserve the best and they usually go out of their way to make sure they get it.
When I was a kid we seemed to always be told to be quiet and to not make a fuss. Was it like that for you?
But no longer; kids today are standing up to claim their greatness. They know far more than we ever did due to exposure to the internet whether for good or bad.
Today I just wanted to let you know that it’s quite normal to struggle a little with your self image, ESPECIALLY if you are putting yourself out there in a big way with social media.
You’re creating fame for your brand and your business.
This is very exciting but can be a little scary at the same time.
So next time you find yourself pulling back because the self image you need to get where you want to be is CONFLICTING with the old smaller version of you, just remember that you owe it to yourself and to all those people that you can help, to step into your BIGGER self image.
Let your greatness shine through and if you falter along the way, so be it.
It’s okay.
No one grows without mistakes.
But as one of my favourite sayings goes, ‘The few who do are the envy of the many who only watch.’
Tips to boost your self image and keep you strong:
1) Create some simple affirmations written in the present tense about who you want to become. Have them next to your bed and read them morning and night before you go to sleep. Your subconscious is a powerful tool if you’ll let it work for you.
2) Read something that will build you on a daily basis. Think & Grow Rich or The Science of Getting Rich are great places to start. Don’t be fooled by the ‘rich’ in the title. They are all about building YOU.
3) Remind yourself often of all the good things you’ve achieved so far. Write them down in your journal and allow yourself to feel the gratitude wash over you as think of your accomplishments so far.

Not many people talk about this stuff but it’s so important for people to know that it’s okay to be scared sometimes.
