My Favourite Wordpress Plugins For Successful MLM Blogging

If you’ve had a blog for even a short while you’ll probably have realised that things they are a changing online all the time!

You just get one thing sorted out and you hear of something better right?

It can be confusing but it’s really important to build your business around some core activities. In the same way it’s also important to create a blog that will be still be around years from now.

When you set up and enthusiastically maintain your wordpress blog, you really are able to create your own ‘internet real estate,’ because you actually do own it!

First of all – What Are Plugins?

Plugins are like the bells and whistles that enable your blog to be heard! A blog with no plugins is like a car with no fuel.

They are special add on features that enable you to customise your blog to suit you, and are one of the main benefits of a wordpress blog.

Which Plugins Should You Use?

With WordPress Plugins there are many options and when you first get started you may find it tricky to know which ones to use so I put together a little guide here so you can find the ones that might be best for you:

I’ve had my WordPress blog for a couple of years now and although it took me a while to even add some plugins because I didn’t understand them; there are some that I have been using for a long time now and are still the most recommended ones today.

I call these the Essential Plugins because they are fundamental to the smooth running and success of your blog.

Essential Plugins:

Akismet – catches the spam and defends your blog. (Not exciting plugin but essential!)

Google Analytics – Tracks your blog so you know where your traffic is coming from and how many visitors you are getting. Awesome plugin!

Google XML Sitemaps – Helps google, Yahoo, Bing & Ask better index your blog

All In One SEO Pack -Brilliant for Search Engine Optimisation (Being found on the internet)

Sociable – Sharing Buttons at the bottom of each post so readers can share your content more easily. This is a very dependable plugin, I’ve found.

Tweetmeme – Special twitter plugin which encourages readers to easily tweet your post. I love this one!

Comment Luv – Encourages commenting as shares your reader’s latest blog post on their comment. One of my all time faves …

Other Popular Plugins:

Sexy Bookmarks – Looks very cool but caused a few issues for me. Try it and see. This could be instead of or as well as Sociable

What Would Seth Godin Do? – Some bloggers rave about this. The first time I installed it, it didn’t work for me. I’ve nstalled it again now and it’s working great. (Seth Godin is a very successful blogger, marketer and author; hence the plugin!)

WordPress Related Posts - There are many of this type of plugin and you may need to test the different ones and see what works best for you. In theory it’s great as it encourages your readers to continue reading more related posts at your blog so it is worth persevering.

Disqus – This is a whole networking profile software and it’s very good for collecting all your comments on other blogs, as well as comments on your own, in one place. There can be a few bugs in it though I have found. Try it and see how you like it.

Viper’s Video Quicktags – Allows you to post video more easily. I haven’t used this yet but heard good things about it.

Key in the name of the plugin you want and you will see it as follows:

You can now install the plugins with just a simple click of the mouse from within the admin section of your blog by following along with the instructions.
