The 4 Magic Keys to Building Your MLM business With Affiliate Marketing – Key 2

March 2nd, 2010 rhenke Comments

Ok so you’ve analyzed yourself and are aligned with the perfect MLM business and are ready to start attracting prospects.

It sounds a little esoteric or even mystical doesn’t it? Well let’s simplify it and look at what it really is and is not. It is the process of LEAD GENERATION.

Lead Generation is the lifeblood of building a big business and whether you do warm market networking or online list building or BOTH (recommended especially when launching) you MUST HAVE MLM LEADS!!

Doh you say. We know that Rachel. That’s why we’re trying to figure all this confusing Attraction Marketing stuff out!

Ok I hear you. Just wanted to be sure that you’re really listening!

So attraction marketing is not about being some guru leader (although there are many) It’s more about positioning your marketing content on the internet in strategic places that will attract suitable prospects to you.

When you set your marketing up right and have a compelling message it becomes scientific. If you type my name into Google at this time of writing there are 33,700 references and most of them are to me.

I think there’s an actress and maybe even a President of an orchid society too but I dominate as you can see:

Imagine all the keywords that bring up my blog and marketing pieces all over the internet. Can you see how it becomes scientific and if people search using my niche keywords they CANNOT HELP but find me! Sweet.

You can do this for your MLM Company and/or for your niche market and affiliate products. I digress though as we’ll cover Attraction Marketing direct to your MLM (without affiliate marketing in the next series)

So to summarize Key 2 you need to do ENOUGH to start being FOUND! Don’t worry you don’t need this many references to make money and generate leads. I was being found pretty much off the get go by promoting my site with ezine articles.

Add in the other millions of ways you can choose from to generate MLM leads such as blogs, using Twitter, Facebook, Hub Pages, Ezine Paid Advertising, Pay per Click etc. etc.

It is really not that complicated when you get clear on what you want to do. So Lead Generation by CREATING CONTENT and attracting prospects into YOUR MARKETING FUNNEL is the name of the game. (Not the End Game though!)

Stay tuned for Key 3 ….

Are Attraction Marketers Really Building MLM Downlines?

January 26th, 2010 rhenke Comments

Network Marketing fascinates me. If it didn’t I probably would have quit long, long ago. There is something about it that is simply addictive.. don’t you think?

What is it exactly? It’s hard to put your finger on.

It’s one of the toughest business models out there but still we cling to this concept of greatness through building a huge network.

Last week as you may recall from my ezine, Amateurs versus Professionals I attended a company convention and also had a special European leadership session with Randy Gage prior to the event which was by special invitation only. It got me thinking…

Randy is convinced that Attraction Marketing is devil’s spawn! This came as no surprise to me, as those of you who follow him know full well that he doesn’t mince words. With Randy it is his way or the highway.

That is actually what is so attractive about him. There is no room for doubt. He has complete conviction, the cheques and the success record to back up his philosophy. That is strong leadership that brings you back to the centre line.

During the leadership session he threw out a few acidic comments about Attraction Marketing and aimed them square at me. I shifted uncomfortably but looked him straight in the eyes. We laughed about it later as I know he wants only the best for me.

IMG_4069

I am well aware that I manifested all of this because I dreamed of working with Randy Gage and his systems years before he even got back into a Network Marketing company.

Still..anyone would think I created Attraction Marketing. I mean come on Randy.. I am not Michelle Dillard!

Randy thinks that Attraction Marketing is ‘bullshit’ and that lots of the online gurus are just mining the minors. (When you think that apparently there was more money made in the Gold Rush from the selling of shovels and levi jeans, than from the gold itself this is obviously a good business to be in!

Anyway it got me to thinking again as I so often do about this online and offline MLM puzzle or conundrum.

I have never said that online MLM is the only way to go because right from the get go I have been very aware of the advantages of building MLM with a traditional (but smart step-by-step) business plan.

Not ever doing fliers again though guys!

I’ve never begged my prospects to join or cried when they said no. (At least not in a long, long time) In previous posts I have written about much of the online nonsense that is going on as newbie network marketers try to figure out what to do, and spam our profiles.

Randy Gage and Eric Worre teach professional network marketing at its very best. Duplication and creating massive organizations that are built to last is their speciality.

Hence they have no time for the latest internet gimmicks and create an army of distributors who know exactly what to do.

Attraction Marketing and Internet Network Marketing on the other hand can get very complicated. By its very nature your people are all doing different things. This makes duplication very, very challenging. (If you didn’t read my story and why I created my own Attraction Marketing system yet, you can download my free Attraction Marketing e-book here)

I do love working online and bring in some great people this way. But you have to have a real business plan for them to get started fast with your company or team.

They then add in online marketing to the mix if they want to.

Going online straight away is awesome if you are experienced and already have a network circle to contact online. For some, especially younger people it is easy to get their heads around driving traffic to their web page. For others who barely know how to get their own domain name, it can be a very slow process.

Personally I advocate doing what you love and what makes sense for your personal circumstances. I for instance live in a very remote location and because of the internet have been able to enrol people from all over the world. Pretty exciting hey?

That being said I have some advanced internet skills and have created an excellent online marketing funnel that does a lot of the work for me.

If I lived in London I probably would do more local networking, so you see how it’s best to create your plan around your skill-set and your life as it is now. (That being said I have done so much local networking in my MLM career and I know the power of it)

I could go on. There’s so much here to elaborate on in another post but enough is enough. You guys are busy and short is better than long these days.

In closing I’m finding myself wondering how many of the Attraction Marketing gurus are really building an MLM downline?

I’ve always done the business with a mix of on and offline because the tools I have access to with my team are way too good to ignore for warm market.

There are many though who claim that they can do it all online. Network Marketing is about people and relationships so whilst I agree that A LOT can be done online with technology, I also know that meetings make money, cement relationships and build belief.

I see the transformation that happens to our team members when they attend events, especially major ones.

I do however LOVE online lead generation and for me it has always been about being able to teach people what to do to attract more prospects once they have been through their warm list.

In my experience most people are open to working their warm list if you give them realistic expectations and quality business tools to do it with.

Where it all falls down (I find) is when you have nothing else to teach them after that. It can be very challenging to meet enough NEW people to do another ‘major blast’ or create enough continued momentum and first line recruiting.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. It seems to me that the roles have been reversed.

The die-hard online network marketers (the Renegades and the Magnetics) who refuse to do any offline marketing have long accused MLM uplines such as Randy Gage and Dani Johnson, of doing one thing but teaching another.

Funded proposals and affiliate marketing are amazing and I have generated a lot of income with them but they do distract people from building their MLM cheque unless they have a systemized approach to it and really understand it.

In a strange irony it seems to me as though the shoe is now on the other foot. The MLM leaders who have built huge downlines with person to person and warm market lists are now calling out the online gurus as doing one thing and teaching another!

Are Attraction Marketers for the most part just selling online affiliate courses and losing sight of the MLM dream?

When you figure that the big players in Attraction Marketing such as Mike Dillard and Mike Klingler are no longer building the MLM model…

Ann Sieg is in MLM but has a huge business with affiliate marketing…

Jonathan Budd is a big player but again I don’t know how much of his earnings published on MLM authority sites are actually from his MLM.

Perhaps Randy Gage has a good point.

What do you think? Leave your comments on the blog. I know this is a heated subject for many so please show respect!

p.s Every name I have mentioned in this blog has been of tremendous value to me in building my business and I in no way which to discredit any of them. They all bring incredible leadership and training to Network Marketing with their own unique style.

Happy Holidays + My Attraction Marketing Secret!

December 24th, 2009 rhenke Comments

There’s no Attraction Marketing ezine this week! I figure you’re probably too distracted to read it and I’ve definitely been too distracted (by my kids and the snow!) to write it!

Instead I’m posting you a little message of encouragement and hope for 2010.

Newyear

I’m sending you my ‘Attraction Secret!’

I’d like to thank you for being a loyal subscriber and/or blog reader with me and I hope that in some way large or small I have contributed to your Attraction Marketing studies and progress this year.

It’s exactly 1 year since I decided to embrace Attraction Marketing and started to build the business in the way I enjoy. (no matter what ‘they’ say!)

ALOT can happen in a year! Goodness me I’m relieved at how much progress I have made and how everything is becoming a lot easier for me now.

If you’re wondering what the ’secret’ is and how you can go faster in 2010 to get your head round all of this stuff I will tell you something that I hope will give you encouragement.

Newyear

My secret for attracting lots of high quality prospects to me every day on auto-pilot is simply this...

I study (ALOT), I practice (even when I don’t feel like it) and I teach what I learn. (That way I learn it better and it becomes of real value in the marketplace) That is how we turn knowledge into money.

Sounds simple hey? So why are more people who desire more money not doing it?

I think one of the reasons is that they are often waiting for permission. Waiting for their upline, their wife or husband, their bank manager, even their downline.. whoever it is to say ‘ok Joe you can do that. It will work.’

It is just a form of procrastination and fear and there are NO guarantees something will work anyway, but I can tell you this.

When you move and start to believe in yourself, and you are excited about your life and your work, things start to happen for you. (And if they don’t, find a different way to approach your business)

So if you feel like this is all too much for you..

Or you think you can’t manage to figure out the techie stuff…

Or you are just frustrated cause you don’t think you’re a good writer…

Or a good promoter…

Or a good whatever!

Take heart. In 2010 we can all get better. I promise you that if you apply some of the good stuff I send your way (90% of it is what I learn from masters who have crushed it with Attraction Marketing + MLM)

You too will get better…but you must discipline yourself to study, practice and teach, as the wonderful, late Jim Rohn taught us… because this is a people business and you can’t do it on your own.

As much as I love people, I have often wished I could just get on with it on my own. Do you have that feeling sometimes when your downline don’t perform?

I think that is something alot of Networkers think along the way because although you may think your biggest challenge is learning to generate leads with your blog, you will find when your blog is up and running that actually your biggest challenge is what it has ALWAYS been.

You must learn to assemble people. You must learn to have them want to follow you.

The great news is that it has never been easier with all the free social media tools we have available these days.

BUT you must study, practice and teach so you can become more valuable and people are compelled to follow you. I have found the best way to do this is to put more of YOU in your marketing.

So my family and I would like to wish you a fantastic holiday and a prosperous 2010.

Yours in Creating Your Own Economy!

Rachel and family

p.s This time of year is a fabulous time to review your activity and results from 2009, and the major part is to make your new plan for 2010 so you are not dilly dallying around in January but are able to hit the ground running.

p.s.s Make 2010 your year that you don’t wait for permission. We no longer have to ‘ladder climb.’ We can leap these days!

p.s.s.s! If you like this little sample of my writing subscribe at the top of this blog to my weekly ‘Attraction Marketing for MLM Rockstars,’ ezine.

Why Do So Many Global MLM Leaders Not Promote Online Attraction Marketing?

August 7th, 2009 rhenke Comments

It’s an interesting question and one that puzzles and/or irritates many. I could probably write a book about it but the sun is shining and I’m going off on my holidays to Spain in a few days, so today I will share just a few of my thoughts with you on the fascinating topic of MLM leaders.

If you’ve read my e-book 7 Pieces of the Attraction Marketing Puzzle, you’ll know that I’m not ‘new school’ or ‘old school.’ I’m not against any of it, rather I am for a lot of it!

I prefer to focus on the good stuff and leave behind the stuff that doesn’t work for me. I’ve long since quit worrying who approves of what I do or what my upline, sideline or any other line think of it!

I’m having great results building a ‘You Inc’ business and the time is right in my opinion to harness the power of the internet to attract prospects to you.

Some like to do this by using social media to expand their warm market, and then when the time is right they introduce their MLM business.

Others like me focus on giving value through the use of social media and attracting or magnetically pulling prospects into their online marketing funnel.

Others try to automate the entire process which I think works for internet marketing but is a difficult road to take for internet network marketing.

Whatever way we attract prospects to look at our business the bottom line is still that we need to build relationships and get to know people. I just find it a lot more productive to do that by using some automated tools to sort out the real prospects before I invest much time into them.

So back to the question of the day about global MLM leaders and why they so often don’t promote attraction marketing, and are even quite negative about it.

Here are some of my thoughts as to why this is and it may help you to get clear on your position and the road you want to take to expand your business.

There is so much confusion brought about by many traditional leaders being anti online attraction marketing and many ‘new school’ leaders being anti everything else!

Here’s what you may want to consider before you shoot someone down for their position in the old school, new school debate.

1) MLM leaders with thousands of people in their organisations, spanning many time zones, countries and languages cannot lightly change their daily method of operation without affecting all of those people in their downline.

2) Online attraction marketing for MLM is very specialized. Many people will not have the patience or the time to apply themselves to learn how to do it effectively. I believe any one can learn how to do it because we have amazing training available these days, but the reality is that not everyone wants to sit for hours at their computer learning a whole new marketing method.

3) MLM leaders are hesitant of promoting something that they think can cost their downline a lot of time and money if they get it wrong. They often do not understand that there are a ton of ways to generate leads online that cost nothing or if you use a funded proposal such as Magnetic Sponsoring, you can actually get into profit very quickly.

4) Online MLM attraction marketing can be very distracting for those who do not work with a strong team that is focussed on their MLM business. They get online to build their MLM but if they don’t have a system they can end up jumping from one thing to the other, promoting this and that and completely losing their focus on their MLM. Why would a global MLM leader think this is a good idea?

5) Internet and training resources. The online attraction marketing model works fabulously with good training and systems for those in English speaking markets with high speed internet access.

My question to you then is ‘what about the rest?’

If you’re building MLM online and focussed on USA, UK, Canada and Australia then happy days. What if like me and many others you have team members in other countries?

I have downline in Nigeria. The guys in Nigeria have the most amazing entrepreneurial spirit. I still am yet to speak to a prospect who hasn’t read ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad,’ by Robert Kiyosaki. It’s incredible!

These guys are building business the social, offline way. They love the idea of internet network marketing but the technology over there just does not permit them to attend webinars and access the training sites that one needs to access to understand how to build the business with attraction marketing.

Taking into consideration all of these things I fully understand why leaders in my upline such as Randy Gage and Eric Worre tread carefully with what they promote.

They and many other MLM leaders have an obligation to provide the best training and leadership to build their group in their MLM. This is quite a challenge when you have fast expanding downline in 50 countries!

It reminds me of the famous ‘butterfly effect.’ The slightest flutter of the wings can have huge implications further down the line.

Most global MLM leaders have our best interests at heart and understand that to build a huge group it is best to stick to the core principles and to keep it simple. I don’t buy into all that negative stuff about your upline not telling you this and that! They have nothing to gain by sabotaging you and most of them are doing their best.

Leaders find leaders and many of those leaders will shoot off and create their own systems that suit their style, skill-set and cultural setting.

Randy Gage has a saying about MLM duplication that goes something like this and I paraphrase, ‘a large group of people taking a few simple actions over a sustained period of time.’

Here’s your challenge! If you want to build a global MLM business that throws off passive income for the rest of your lifetime and beyond how are you going to create that type of consistency using the internet?

That’s why I created my own simple marketing system with a step by step process to build a Network Marketing business with attraction marketing, as opposed to just generating a lot of leads online.

I’m incredibly passionate about the opportunity that online attraction marketing presents us with, and if you’re ready to step up and build your business in this exciting way you can read more from me and get access to the resources I use here: Attraction Marketing Free e-book

Just bear in mind if you’re committed to building an MLM business we still need to respect other ways of building the business that work for thousands of people all over the world, and a big tip I’d like to give you is that it is essential to have an effective offline system in place also, if you want to build globally and tap into other markets.

Have a great day and I’ll try and check in from Sunny Spain!

p.s I’ll be officially launching the 7 Pieces Attraction Marketing System for generic use (any MLM) due to popular demand, upon my return. You can check out the details here: 7 Pieces Attraction Marketing System

Social Media Revolution is here!!! Feedback on Perry Belcher’s & Mike Dillard’s first training video.

January 6th, 2009 rhenke Comments

I have been observing and participating in the Social Media revolution for some time now but last night was the first time that I actively took part in a training course. I’d like to share a few observations about it because many people have been asking me about Mike Dillard’s and Perry Belcher’s new material.

Well the good news is that is was absolutely FUN to be on the ‘course.’ I had thought I’d better prepare myself to concentrate intensely to learn all these new things and it would probably be very techie and my eyes might glaze over after 20 minutes, but …. I laughed all the way through.

What a contrast to the studies many of us have sat through at school and college. I do love learning and am consistently studying something but this is about as fun as it gets. Perry and Mike are an entertaining double act, Perry being really off the wall, and Mike a little more self contained and postured.

Here are a couple of the key points I got from the first session: They observed that people like to be in business with someone they know. This is why we can become very successful by building an audience with social media and becoming dominant in our chosen niche.

Here I thought that we really have come full circle in the industry. Traditional network marketing is all about warm market. Then over the years we went through lots of ‘chilly market’ and very expensive advertising, and more recently it’s all been about how to generate your own leads, peppered with negativity from many online marketers about how rubbish your warm market is!

Now it seems we are once again focussed on warm market, but with a new twist; using social media to attract ‘friends’ who as a natural result can become business partners, or customers etc.

This is exciting to me because I have always bought into the warm market business building when it is done correctly, using 3rd party tools and a system. It always made sense to me that people who trust you are more likely to look at what you’re doing. (If they are remotely interested and looking for something of course!) As I like to be congruent with what I’m doing this makes me feel very good and I am excited.

Perry said that one must connect with ‘patience and passion whilst giving value,’ and that is a good message for all network marketers and certainly compliments the ‘MLM Revolution’ (more about that another time!) that is taking place now.

The foundation training was 88 minutes long so I can’t cover it all in detail but the overall vibe I got from it was fabulous. Social Media is revolutionary and as they said, ‘everything is changing,’ and the old guard who are not embracing these new multiple avenues of media communications are being left behind. People no longer need to settle for just being told what’s what. Now they really have an opportunity to talk back. (And let’s face it we all love that!!)

Much of the content revolved around blogging and twitter. Perry relates Facebook, Twitter, You Tube and other social media sites to the ‘Party.’ Your blog is your ‘house’ and your skills and business etc. is ‘the porch.’ Watch Perry’s introductory videos here to get the gist of it:

This is likened to the corporate business model of meeting people at social events, getting to know them better; perhaps invite them to your home for a party, and then after dinner with brandy and cigars is when the real networking gets done.Smart really – it’s been working for hundreds of years so it will work here too in the virtual world. Anyhow leave me out of the cigars, and I’ll switch brandy to a vintage port but other than that I’m a happy chappy. Look out for more updates as the next trainings come through and I really get to grips with the power of Twitter!!

To Prospect Online or Offline for your Home Business?

December 18th, 2008 rhenke Comments

That is the question!! I am writing about this today because I feel that there are many people in Network Marketing who are extremely confused about this. They are taught traditional network marketing skills by their upline, (if they have a good sponsorship line who is equipped to teach them professional skills) but at the same time are being bombarded with super guru online multiple messages.

This spells confusion for most, and confusion generally means inactivity. For the new kids on the block it can be fatal.

Okay so we have the traditional old school Network Marketers who work the basic principles and are expert networkers in their community and are building downlines all over the globe through word of mouth viral marketing.

Depending which company or system these guys are using they will often have cutting edge 3rd party tools which can effectively deliver the business message, and all that is left for them to do is join up the dots and enrol the ones that ‘get it’ into their organisation.

Does this still work today? You bet it does. Word of mouth recommendation works better and faster than anything out there.

This group of Networking professionals may be slightly intimidated by the internet and new technology. Perhaps they’ve been around in the industry for quite a while and are reluctant to make a change. Firstly because what they do works for them, and secondly because they enjoy it!

Those are great reasons not to make a change for change’s sake. The thing is that even with this group, technology is being forced upon them at lightening speed, and even by following the basics they are gradually learning how to invite people to look at online videos rather than using just physical tools and snail mail.

Then there is the other group; these are the guys who live and die online. They are stuck to their computers with superglue and the only thing that would force their knees out from underneath the laptop, is perhaps a call for dinner time. Even then they may gobble their dinner down whilst updating their twitter status, and poking someone on Face book. I think this may in fact be the case!!

Now a lot of these guys are using attraction marketing principles successfully, whilst a vast number of them seem to be doing legal spamming. You know what I mean don’t you? The ones who post their opportunity pitch on your profile as though you are running a public notice board.

Take note guys. This is very poor and unenlightened netiquette! Be nice and make friends. Attraction marketing is about attracting not about spamming. In the same way that hard core, old school, MLMers can give the industry a bad name by being too hard core and in your face with the 3 foot rule, the new age tweeters and facebookers can do the same for their camp, and be a complete turn off for the whole thing.

Personally I care about the Network Marketing industry which is why I bring this to your attention, in the hopes that I can do my little bit to influence and teach these guys how to behave with more elegance.

The online die-hards who wouldn’t talk to a sharp looking prospect offline and in the real world if they bit them on the nose, I feel have taken it all a bit too far. What do you think?

I think super smart marketing needs to make the best of both online technology and life in the real world. As with all things there is a way to do things extremely well and professionally.

I was watching Perry Belcher’s new videos about Social Media marketing and he is so on the money. He says that being involved in Social Media is just like being at a party. Now that makes perfect sense to me because all professionals whether in Network Marketing or other business know that since time began more business and referrals are swapped over dinner at the country club, at the local Chamber of Commerce, or even over a cup of coffee than in cold marketing.

People want to do business with those they respect and trust. Enter the new breed of network marketer. These guys have totally got it and are the MLM Rockstars of our era. They are not spending 10 hours a day bad mouthing other companies, piggy backing on their keywords, and spamming others’ profiles randomly.

What they are doing is building their business, using both on and offline networking technology and resources. At the same time they are attracting a loyal following. A fan base if you like. It’s similar to Mike Dillard’s magnetic sponsoring but it provides the missing piece in the puzzle. The actual ‘how to prospect.’

Now everyone can learn (if they are technically inclined to learn!) how to implement social media into their business to attract prospects. The technology is getting smarter and smarter, which really means that even dumb or shall we say not so techno savvy people can master it.

What was once very difficult to duplicate such as learning how to have a large following which in turn will attract some people into your business, is now simpler because of this social media. You can blog, you can post videos, or you can simply have fun on Facebook posting about your passions and interests.

Whatever is your thing; you can maximise for your business and have great fun doing so. The MLM lead companies, who have already been in trouble since so many started to learn how to generate their own leads, must now be quaking in their boots. Why would you pay for a lead when you can generate a higher quality, more responsive one yourself, using FREE social media?

So it seems to me that the circle is complete. We can choose to prospect online and/or offline. (I recommend staying alert and awake when you are out and about having fun even if you are a die hard on liner!!)

Exchange business cards with smart people and then later on you can get in touch with them via social media or skype. Follow up and building relationships has never been easier!!

Our local and corporate type networking is now brought online so that word of mouth viral marketing is working on the internet just as well as at the local networking group. It is warm market when done properly, not cold market, horribly expensive leads, for prospects who want a get rich quick job at home!

When you’re networking online remember it is still the same as at the local networking group. It’s about being a friend, being professional, having fun and providing value to the market place.

If you do enough of that, with the right strategy, you will have a never ending supply of free, highly responsive and high quality prospects that will come to you as a solution provider when the time is right for them.

Dare I say it but I think Network Marketing is finally becoming pure and undiluted fun! Stay tuned for more postings about maximising social media for your home business.

MLM Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

May 15th, 2008 rhenke Comments

Wow if there was ever an exciting industry to be involved in it is MLM or Network Marketing as it is commonly known.  There is so much confusion and misunderstanding surrounding the industry that I thought it would be helpful to offer some basic FAQs for those prospects and newbie network marketers who are just dipping their little toe in the water and deciding whether this business is really going to be their future. After a total of 5 years in the industry with 2 different companies I have some good practical experience of the common concerns of the new prospect looking at MLM for the first time so here goes:

1)Q. Why do I need to pay to join the company when I will be working for it?

A. This is often heard from people who don’t understand the potential of network marketing. There are several answers to this as follows:

a) Firstly people don’t appreciate things that are free! The joining fee in my first company was quite low and because of this I found that many people who were not at all serious were attracted to join. In turn they would quit as soon as they realised that further investment would be required along the way. I prefer to work with a company that has an upfront moderate investment in exchange for good quality products and system. That way I know I am working with those who are looking for a business not a get rich quick scheme.

b) You generally pay only a very small enrollment fee to join the company which covers the administration costs and in the case of the company I work with, gives you a free 21st century back office to track your downline commissions, organisation and to run a paper free office.

c) You pay to receive the products and materials to actually run your business. In all large,  successful network marketing companies there should be a strong emphasis on using the products. Consumable products offer very solid and long term passive income because of this.  If you are serious about building the business you will need to feel conviction that your products are outstanding. The only way to do this is to use them and get results.  You will also need products for marketing purposes and sampling.

d) This is not a job. Business people buy their own pencils! You must own your distributorship in order to own the passive income cheques that will follow if you do this right.

2)Q. Why are the products not sold in the shops if they are so good?

A. It’s ironic that so many products sold in shops are really not good at all!

They have a very high mark up and often a very low value to the customer. MLM products are generally much higher quality than shop products and the money is invested into the product and the distributor is highly rewarded because this is the most cost efficient methods of distribution out there.  More and more smart companies are cutting out the middle man and using those massive savings to provide better quality products to the consumer. Look at Dell and the revolutionary way it is cleaning up in the computer industry. In modern MLM companies the product is delivered and sold by the company direct from the warehouse to the consumer. This is why Network Marketers can be so well paid.

3)Q. I read on google that this is a pyramid scheme….Is that true?

A. My best advice here would be to disregard anything you read on Google about opportunities unless you know it is from a credible source. 90% of what you read on Google is hype from competitors who are piggy backing on the wave of the growth of a certain company, by adding their own negative publicity spin so that they can advertise their own business whatever it may be. Evaluate your chosen company (I recommend you evaluate a good selection) and speak to the person who would be your sponsor to find out more. Review everything carefully including the company website. Pyramid schemes do exist but usually they are out of business as quickly as they appear because the industry is highly regulated today. Most good companies are members of the DSA and of course have had to pass all of the regulations and red tape of opening up in any country which is not simple to do.

Some ignorant people think that MLM is another word for a pyramid scheme. That is just lack of understanding of the industry and can be quickly overcome by those who can be bothered to study the facts. MLM is a 100 billion dollar industry operating in over 100 countries and it is growing every day, as more and more people seek to work from home!

4.)Q. How do I make money?

A) In very simple terms you make money by being the reason that product is shipped from the warehouse. In the old style companies this would involve stocking loads of products at home and having a retail shop. This is no longer necessary as the company can take care of all that for you and just send you a commission cheque on a monthly basis. Your job is to introduce distributors and customers who want to use the products. The bigger your organisation, the bigger your pay cheque!

There are many different compensation plans…some better than others. As a rule you want to join with a company that pays out early in the plan so you can get into profitability quickly, but that also offers long term passive income many levels deep, so that you can develop a ‘walkaway’ residual income down the line for when you are ready to step back and drink from a coconut!

5) Q. I’m not good in sales. How can I succeed in the business?

A. This is a very common misconception. The great MLM businesses are not focussed on sales. As long as there is no crippling monthly personal volumes to meet (check this out!) there is absolutely no need to focus on sales. The most successful people in the industry are those that develop teaching and training skills. Make sure you join with an upline who has a solid duplicative system so that you can train and build a huge organisation without spending all of your money on advertising.

In closing if you think you have the drive and the work ethic to run your own business from home then there are no limits to where you can go with the Network Marketing vehicle. Do your due diligence and don’t listen to what ‘they’ say.

10 Reasons To Seek Out Mentors

February 23rd, 2008 rhenke Comments

Introduction

Recently I realised that many people in my network marketing organisation do not yet understand the value of mentors. They tend to look upon their mentors as their bosses because that it is the only context they can find to relate to them. Here are some important points about why good mentors are so valuable.

1) It is difficult enough as it is to start a new business but to do it totally on your own, with no mentors is close to business suicide. A mentor knows the pitfalls and can alert you when you are about to fall hard and fast. You don’t have to be the lone ranger, in fact you can learn from the guys who have gone before you and hacked through the jungle.

2) If you have good mentors, you have a strong support system. You can talk things through with them and they will listen to you when times are tough, and you need someone to talk to who understands what you are doing. Their time is valuable of course and you must respect that.

3) Money is something that is acquired along the way by those who learn how to deliver value to the market place. The people who have done this have often become amazing human beings on their journey. You can learn so much wisdom from them it is priceless.

4) Financially successful mentors will give you multi million dollar financial tips just because they can. They know what’s realistic and what’s insane. They can help you formulate a sound business plan. For instance many people going into business for the first time feel compelled to quit their job and dive in head first. A good mentor will urge them not to do so unless there is no other way to make the business work.

5) Get connected! One mentor will lead you to another. It is a widely accepted fact that we are highly influenced by the people closest to us. Therefore it is common sense that we should want to expand our circle to include people whom have achieved the particular skill set that we aspire to have. It can be a scary thought that our income is likely to be the average of our five closest friends, especially if they are in the low income bracket.

6) Resources – mentors have their resources and they may share them with you especially if you are part of their business organisation. Mentors are usually good teachers. In the process of learning from them they can teach you how to teach. Leaving a legacy and passing on your knowledge is an awesome contribution.

7) Great mentors have heard it all before. The chances are that as experts in their field there is no situation that they haven’t dealt with before. The benefit of hindsight can save much worry and stress for the new business owner just starting out.

8) Mentors are fun! You can make it your goal to attract different mentors for different areas of your life. The one important thing to remember is that your mentor must be someone who has done what you want to do and has immersed themselves in that activity in a practical way. Don’t try to learn from people who have only read about it in a book!

9) Invoke the universal law of give and receive. This is a powerful way of thinking which can help you to attract a network of people into your world whom you can mould yourself upon, and aspire to their success. The rule of the mentoring system is that you must prove yourself worthy, and to be a person of action or your mentor will soon grow weary of investing their time in you.

10) Your mentors will inspire you to grow and to push through hidden barriers of the mind. A good example of the power of the mind is in that of Roger Bannister, becoming the first person to run a mile in under 4 minutes. Up until that time people believed it couldn’t be done. Guess what? Soon after it became a standard achievement. A classic case of ‘well if he can do it maybe I can do it too!!’
