Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill is the classic tome (little one!)of personal and prosperity development.
I’m not even going to attempt to do a review of this phenomenal book but I’d like to share with you a poem from Page 38 which is the chapter on Faith.
Napoleon talks about the disaster of negative thinking and gives the ‘formula for self-confidence.’ Wow this is something that everyone who is trying to coax the rich person out of them can benefit from reading over and over.
Here’s the poem:
“If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you like to win, but you think you can’t,
It is almost certain you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost,
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow’s will -
It’s all in the state of MIND.
If you think you’re outclassed, you are,
You’ve got to think high to rise,You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life’s battles, don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man
But soon or later the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!”
Hug this one close and take it to bed with you every night! Re-visit the book if you’ve read it and brainwash yourself into successful thinking.
If you’re not a big reader (become one?) or just focus on the chapter on Faith for now. A kid can read it.
This is one of my favourite chapters. Here’s another little portion from page 35:
“Thoughts which are mixed with any of the feelings of emotions constitute a ‘magnetic’ force which attracts other similar or related thoughts.”
Amazing hey? Ther’s the Secret and the Law of Attraction for you way back when. All of the new books seem to come from this source (which of course was fueled by other sources)
So are there no new truths?
The GREAT news is that just by investing a few notes to buy this little book you have all the secrets of the prosperity masters at your fingertips.
Reading and studying the whole book over and over is a pleasure. Andrew Carnegie’s rise from poverty to riches is a wonder all of it’s own.
Will you take the time to study, practice and teach? YES I know ‘I’m so LUCKY’ because I love to read. I’ve been reading everything I could get my hands on since I learned how.
Reading is the best free activity and source of inspiration ever invented in my opinion. Anyway give yourself a little heart-warming treat and follow the Self confidence formula and the FAITH code in Chapter 3.
It’s also available on CD so you can turn your car or kitchen into your prosperity university.
p.s I am an unpaid affiliate for the Think & Grow Rich message! All the good stuff comes back to me in many ways.

I just recently read Think and Grow Rich and it was by far the best book I’ve ever read on mindset. It really put things clearly into perspective on how what we believe to be true is what we end up with.
The poem that you shared spells it out perfectly and I feel everyone should read it, learn it, and know it.
Thanks for sharing!

Think and Grow Rich was an excellent read.
Feeding your mind is the most important thing you can do not only for your business but also for the nourishment of your soul.
“The man who does more than he is paid for will soon be paid for more than he does.”

Great post, thank you,
I loved the book, though it isn’t until I read it 3 times and watched the videos about the book, that I FULLY comprehended its principles, and fully apply them, daily.

Napoleon Hill is an amazing man indeed

Hi Rachel,
thanks for sharing this poem here. I was just reading chapter 3 again. It’s all a matter of faith. The mistake that most people make is that they try to read it alone. It’s critical to read it together with a like-minded mastermindgroup, as outlined in the chapter about the power of the mastermind.
Take care & Happy New Year

Hey Oliver
Yes great point – especially for those who struggle with motivation and seeing things through.
